Azumanga Daioh ~ Review

Azumanga Daioh is about high school life through the eyes of six girls with unusual personalities: Chiyo (the 10-year-old genius), Osaka (the resident airhead), Sakaki (the shy one prone to cat bites), Tomo (the loose cannon), Yomi (the short-tempered one) and Kagura (the resident jock).

Hey there! Sorry about not posting in forever! I have been getting back to the habits of school, and have watched barely any anime! Anyways, I just finished Azumanga Daioh, and I thought that it was pretty darn awesome.

One thing that I must mention straight off the bat is that just love the characters. Some are very common (the airhead, short temepered, etc.), but I have never really seen one with all of them in it! I love the two teachers, and pretty much everyone else.
The artwork for this was very minimal, but it worked. Good drawing, but doesn't focus as much on that as it does on the plot.
The plot, also, goes through all of their years of high school, and gives us a perspective into the lives of every single character at some point or another. It is also, I must admit, hilarious.
The opening and closing songs were different, and the lyrics for the opening don't make sense (but in that enjoyable non-making sense way.) Warning, one of these songs will get caught in your head at some point or another.
Overall, I really enjoyed it. It was a nice, warm welcomed, comical relief to my humdrum everyday life. Really, really, unique to watch.
